Just wanted to show some great appreciation to Jack Doyle the developer of the TweenLite Flash tweening engine.
I have been using tweenLite for some time now, I started back in university I had simple animation project which I started off using Flash’s tweeing engine back then actionscript 2 Flash 8 I very quickly understood that it was one of the worst tweening engine you could use I played around with a number of different engines Moses Gunesch’s Fuse Kit (only AS2), Tweener by Zeh Fernando which are both great but I personally choose to go with TweenLight by Jack Doyle

One of the great things about the Flash community is the open source projects and willingness of everyone helping each other out saying that Jack Doyle has done a great job in maintaining and updating TweenLite which isn’t so ease considering that TweenLite has 4 different sister engines TweenNano, TweenMax, TimelineLite, TimelineMax all work with AS2 and AS3.
Jack Doyle has set up a donation system via PayPal to help pay for maintaining everything, one of the things that I always told myself was once I move to freelancing I will make a donation and become a GreenSock Club Member I am happy to say that I finally had the opportunity to do so which is great.
How Does GreenSock Club Membership Work
There are individual memberships as well as corporate ones (corporate memberships come with a more permissive license, allowing use in commercial projects that aren’t covered under the “no charge” standard license). Once you become a member you also get members-only benefits like bonus plugins, classes, svn access, etc. you can check out everything here GreenSock Club Member.
Why I choose & Recommend TweenLight
I think choosing a tween engine is all about the project and what your comfortable with, I personally choose TweenLite because its very robust it works both in AS2 and As3 and moving between synthetic is very simple of course I don’t write in AS2 anymore but I always get clients that need to update there existing sites. Another thing that is very important to is performance and TweenLite is extremely fast and lightweight you can add only what you need and if you need more you can always use TweenMax. Some of my favorite features are immediateRender, overwrite, onStart, onComplete, and of course the plugins.

Thanks for the support, Almog! It’s always great to hear when a fellow developer finds the code useful. I owe much of the success of the project to developers like yourself who support it. Enjoy the club membership and all the bonus plugins/code.
