Flash & Flex Israel

It has been sometime time since I started the Adobe User Group Flash and Flex Israel, which at the being was noting more then an idea. I was asked by a good friend why I’m so interested in creating a user group in Israel to him it seemed like a lot of work for noting. I glad to say that I don’t feel the same way. I do have two simple answers regrading his question first I have been involved in the Flash community for some time always wanting to do more and not just receive help which I must say is one of the best things about the community. I wanted to give something back Flash and Flex Israel was my way of doing that, secondly after traveling to a number of conference I noticed that’s its very expensive and very hard to attend more then one while I have been fortunate most people in Israel can’t make these conference weather its work, or traveling. My goal was to provided that opportunity in Israel a small event growing over time to a full scale event “Flash Israel”.

Looking ahead

My first meeting was noting more then 4 attends showing up after 15 minutes of getting to know each other everyone went home, after that it become a challenge that I’m glad I stuck out. Flash and Flex Israel has a strong user base of over 50 users, are last meeting turning out 45 attends with great feedback. We have a lot planned for 2010/2010 so stay tuned.

Flash Israel

So how did Flash Israel start? Will in truth noting but luck. I have been planning an event for last 6 months, I was planning on doing a Flash Camp which was moving forward very slowly. A couple of weeks ago user group mangers received a message from Adobe about the up coming product release Flash Builder 4 a mini tour was planned were a number of selected user groups would receive an Adobe evangelist Flash and Flex Israel was on that list. At first I planned noting more than a user group meeting for 55 attends, however after some consideration I thought it would be a good opportunity for a full Flash event in Israel.

What to expect

So what should you expect? Expect it to be a little ruff in the beginning I’m only one person but other then that expect a great event none like it before. Yes there has been events in Israel under QuickSoft and other user groups which I’m sure were great. Flash Israel is different in every way you will notice this when you walk in to registers and from the great agenda we have planned, as you can see the focus in not on product release but the technology. Are Agenda is packed from local speakers to speakers from aboard covering over 4 topics Debugging your code in Flash Builder 4, Flex in the Trenches, Making money with Air, Developing with Air.
